Chinese President Xi JinPing has announced that he has begun construction of a massive wind and solar power project in the country’s deserts.

Indicating that they will continue their renewable energy investments, Xi said that they are in the first phase of the investment that will reach a total capacity of 100 gigawatts. 100 GW of capacity is already above all India’s installed capacity. China, the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases, aims to become carbon neutral by 2060.
