Reports to and receives assignments, instructions, and direction from the Master Electrician or Supervisor. Oversee Preventative Maintenance Schedules and works in coordination with the department leadership to provide oversight of electrical crews performing inspections and repairs. This includes instrumentation, inverter drives, DCS/SCADA, LV and HV motors, switchgear and control gear. Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS). AC and DC, variable speed drives and specialized control panels. Ensures highest quality standards are installed in all installations. Maintains, repairs, and replaces or installs a broad range of electrical equipment and support systems in support of base construction and maintenance activities. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Performs other duties and activities as directed. Required to be a familiar with a FLUKE MULTI FUNCTIONAL TESTER used in BS 7671 TESTING AND INSPECTION EXPERIENCE. Identifies and repairs deficiencies identified during the PMI / TI inspections. Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities. Responsible for identifying proper materials required for specific installations, submitting material requisitions through the procurement process and following up with materials and/or logistics personnel until received. Performs other duties and activities as directed. The skills for this position are acquired through Certification as Journeyman Electrician and 2-5 years of experience.
- Can demonstrate experience in the ability to perform the required duties to maintain electrical distribution systems on commercial/industrial projects to include working on government projects
- Knowledgeable of electrical codes per BS 7671
- Capable of reading blueprints, schematics and other diagrams
- Capable understanding and using electrical diagnostic tools
- Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers
- Able to meet the physical requirements of the job including, working in confined spaces, lifting heavy equipment and working at elevated heights
