Introducing the New 530e and 550e Hybrid Models

Increasing the dose of electricity in its product range day by day, BMW is preparing to support the new 5 Series with two new rechargeable hybrid versions. The new versions, called 530e and 550e, will be available in Germany as of November. The rechargeable hybrid system of the new BMW 530e consists of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine, a 19.4 kWh battery pack, an electric motor and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Offering a total of 295 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, the model can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 230 km/h. According to WLTP, the pure electric driving range of the model in question is around 100 km.

BMW 550e xDrive, as its name suggests, has a four-wheel drive system. The model, which comes with a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine, thus exhibits a higher performance than the other version with 483 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. Completing the 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.3 seconds, the 550e xDrive reaches a top speed of 250 km/h. The pure electric driving range of this version varies between 80-90 km.

Both models can be charged with a maximum AC charging capacity of 7.4 kW as standard. This is enough to fully charge the battery pack in 3 hours and 15 minutes. If you want to charge it from a standard outlet at home, this time is approximately 12 hours. The price of the new versions starts from 65,300 euros and rises to 77,300 euros with the 550e xDrive.
