According to the statement made by Alibaba’s Turkey unit, Alibaba’s President Michael Evans talked about the company’s investment plans during his meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in New York. Evans also emphasized that Alibaba invested $1.4 billion in Turkey through Trendyol, which is owned by Alibaba. Erdogan, who is in the USA to attend the 78th general assembly of the United Nations, holds meetings with a number of leading business people, including SpaceX and Tesla’s top executive Elon Musk, during his visit.
It was reported that Evans, accompanied by Trendyol President Çağlayan Çetin, shared with Erdoğan details about new investments such as the data center, logistics center in Ankara, and export operations center at Istanbul Airport.
