Volkswagen Unveils the Next-Gen Tiguan

Volkswagen introduced the 3rd generation of Tiguan, one of the best-selling SUV models. The compact SUV, which has sold more than 7.6 million units since its debut in 2007, will be on sale in the first quarter of 2024. Offering two plug-in hybrid engine options of 201 horsepower (150 kW) and 268 horsepower (200 kW), the new Tiguan promises a 100 km electric-only range. It also comes with enhanced AC charging and DC charging support, which is offered as standard for the first time.

Turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder, milt hybrid with 48-volt lithium-ion battery support, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine offering 201 horsepower (150 kW) or 262 horsepower (195 kW), and diesel with a 2.0-liter, 148 horsepower (110 kW) or 190 horsepower. horsepower (142 kW) power options are available. Inside, we are greeted by a 15-inch giant infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch new digital display screen. As on ID models, the gear lever is now behind the steering wheel.

The length of the new Tiguan has increased by approximately three centimeters, while height, width and wheelbase remain almost the same as the previous model. The luggage capacity of the new generation increased by 37 liters to 652 liters. The new Tiguan, which will go on sale in Europe in 2024, is expected to arrive in Turkey in the second quarter of the year. IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlight technology, jointly developed for Tiguan and Touareg, attracts attention in the front design.
