The company aims to offer its new models under the Omoda, Jaecoo and Exlantix brands in Europe by 2025. The Omoda 5 model will appear in the Spanish market later this year. As we learned in February, the crossover model will go on sale in the UK in early 2024 and then in Germany in April. Chery will offer gasoline, plug-in hybrid and electric versions to meet the needs of different regions. The electric version in the UK will have 198 horsepower and will be able to travel 450 km on a single charge according to the European WLTP cycle with its 64 kilowatt-hour battery.
The Omoda 5 model will come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard; It will offer two 10.25-inch screens as the infotainment system and driver display. The vehicle will also have luxury features such as ventilated seats and adaptive cruise control.
Chery will introduce its fully electric vehicles under the Exlantix brand by the beginning of 2025. The company is looking forward to seeing how it can fare in Europe’s competitive market with these new brands and models. It also has plans to purchase or build an assembly plant in Europe, emphasizing local production. It is eagerly awaited how Chery, which will make its decision on this strategy next year, will follow to make an effective entry into the European market.
